IT Challenge
“Prior to the cloud, we were using an in-house server and hosted our own email exchange server”, said Justin Reiss, Vice President & Associate Broker. “On average, it seemed like every quarter we experienced issues where our server shut down or froze up.”
These issues cost United Metro thousands of dollars in down time. In fact, according to a survey by CA Technologies, small enterprises lost, on average, more than $55,000 in revenue due to IT failures each year, while midsize companies lost more than $91,000.
This issue combined with a need to replace an aging server led United Metro to look at alternative options. “It seemed like moving to a cloud based system was the next logical step which would cost us less in the long run,” said Reiss.
